My Favorite Martian Bloghop

From the Geek Twins' site:

On January 21st, 2013, share your all-time favorite alien individual (Martian or not) and why you love them. Find like minded blogs, get new visitors and make new friends!

Nanu nanu. This was a no-brainer for me. When I think of aliens, there are some scary ones in existence in tv and movie land. Who hasn't been traumatized by Alien? Sure some are scary, yet there are cute, harmless ones too. I adored E.T. and ALF, but there's one that surpasses them as my favorite.

My favorite alien is Mork from Mork & Mindy. I watched every single episode as a child—mainly in syndication since I was too young when it first came out—thought it was hilarious, and Mork was played by the immensely talented Robin Williams. His antics were adorable and the romance between him and Mindy was sweet and innocent.

Who’s your favorite alien?

Saying hello from the blog hop! It's always neat to see how veteran actors were when they just started out. Thanks for sharing this. It's a real blast from the past!

Watched every episode as well! Williams was a maniac on that show.

You know, I'm not sure how much Mork and Mindy I actually saw. I've absorbed some of it from cultural consciousness, but I should probably go back to the original sometime - along with everything else I want to watch. ;)

My entry may not go up until I'm home from work today.

My favorite is the alien from E.T.

I missed this blogfest, but if I were to choose I'd pick the alien from STARMAN...played so fantastically by Jeff Bridges. :)

And some of us are old enough that we watched Mork each week before it went into syndication. I always loved the final "Mork calling Orson" skit at the end of each episode as he relayed the peculiarities of humans. Excellent choice!

Great choice! I wasn't sure I knew who this was, but the video helped.

LOL! What a fun idea for a hop... and never seen Mork and Mindy--but I'm sure it's hilarious with Robin Williams... :D

I loved that show when it was on Nick and Night (or possibly Nickelodeon itself after school?) when I was a preteen. My parents never understood why I was so obsessed with these shows they never liked when they were popular in the Sixties and Seventies. At first, I actually thought M&M was taped in Boulder, not that they just used that as the setting but really taped in California.

You know Medeia, this was my first choice before I changed it. Mork was brilliant and his best creation. Thanks for the laughs!

This is a tough one because there have been so many wonderful aliens over the year. ET was pretty cool, but those little guys serving up coffee in Men in Black also made me laugh. Hmm. I don't know who it is, but I know it's not Jabba the Hut.

Another vote for Mork! Robin Williams is a genius who is perhaps still ahead of his time.

Mork! I used to love that show. My son says nonsense words sometimes, and he came up with Nanu himself.

A (belated) howdy from the blog hop!

Great pick! I used to love Mork and Mindy....back when Robin Williams was actually funny :)

I remember one segment where Mork was talking to Orson and said something to the effect of "This is Mork, singing off from Boulder Colorado"...and a large boulder falls, almost hitting him. He then replies, "Good thing I didn't land in Buffalo". For some strange reason, I always thought that was hilarious :)

I loved Mork and Mindy too. I wonder if it's on TV anywhere. So many of those shows are coming back again.

Robin Williams? He's great!
I can't say that I have a favourite Martian, but I've always been fascinated by the lizard-like aliens from the early 80's sci-fi mini-series "V"...

Never heard of this particular martian until now. :)

What a cute idea for a blog hop! I love that you like Robin Williams as Mork! lol

I think my favorite alien(s) are those in John Carpenter's "Alien" and the other films in that series. Yeah, they're definitely not cuddly, but they're awesomely scary! There's no better alien villains than "Aliens" (except maybe "Predator"). I'm a big Horror fan. *wink*

Medeia Sharif said...

Thanks for stopping by, everyone. I'm glad you liked my choice and it was fun going around and seeing everyone else's picks. I'm still making stops.

What a fun hop! I've never seen this show, but I'm curious to check out older episodes. I honestly haven't experienced many aliens in entertainment, so can't say I have a fave right now.
