A ROW80 Update

This round of A Round of Words in 80 Days runs from January 7th to March 28th. Here are my goals for this round, all involving YA manuscripts. Abbreviations are used for the titles and updates are in red.

A) Revise and edit EK, a manuscript my beta readers gave me feedback on right before the round. Since last Wednesday I revised 3 more chapters, with 9 out of 26 chapters revised.
B) Revise M, a draft I wrote during the summer. Since last Wednesday I revised 6 more chapters, with 9 out of 24 chapters revised.
C) Revise and edit VD. I went through one phase of revisions during the last round. For this round I'd like to polish the manuscript before sending it to beta readers. Since last Wednesday I revised 6 more chapters, with 9 out of 26 chapters revised.

So, with all the work I did during the extended weekend, I stopped at the beginning of chapter 10 on all 3 manuscripts.

I hope everyone is doing well with their goals.

Chapter ten on all three? What are the odds?

You've inspired me, Medeia, to work on more than one WIP at a time. Now I edit WIP #1 during the day, and plot out WIP #2 in the evenings. I'm not sure I'd be able to edit two WIP at the same time like you do (um, I don't mean literally at the same time.) :)

And to think I can't handle one. You are working on 3 at the same time. Whoa!

BAM! You're always so productive. I'm also revising and feeling inspired this week, and you've inspired me even more.

A big well done, it has obviously motivated you and you are making such rapid progress!

You know, I'm reading Gregory David Robert's SHANTARAM at the moment and your post has put the book in a new light. Surely he too must've gone through the rigours of editing such a massive tome, probably on top of doing other things. I'm baffled at how anyone can handle that degree of keeping things together and not lose focus, while at the same time pouring vast amounts of original creative energy into a story.

The end result is simply a novel that is read and admired, but the reader rarely acknowledges the effort and skill required to produce such works. Consider me educated.

I love that you're at the same place in all three. Are you still teaching?

The only way to succeed at this over the long haul is to have a plan and to stick with it.

You inspire me.

The acronym VD still makes me giggle though :-)
