The Golden Eagle's blog is turning 2 today. Woo hoo, Golden. To celebrate, she came up with The Evil Genius Blogfest, which I'm participating in.I thought about doing flash fiction, but then I decided to go the non-fiction route. I’m blogging about an evil genius of the movies, Freddy Krueger. He frightened the heck out of me in the 80s and 90s. Striped shirts used to unsettle me. And I recall that during Halloween many of my classmates paid homage to him by wearing his costume. The sound of those razor blade fingers gave me the heebie jeebies.

Freddie is pretty darn evil. I was a teenager during the first Scream movies--that mask still creeps me out.
Oh yes, some of the sequels may have got a bit silly but the original was truly frightening to me when it first came out.
Oh isn't he the scariest thing!??! I still can't watch the first Nightmare film all the way through cos he just scares the cr*p out of me - i think it's the idea of being trapped in a dream turned nightmare you can't wake up from! EW!!!
Yay for a great evil genius! Take care
x
Oh my gosh! I was so scared watching those movies. It's enough to make you afraid to go to sleep.
Freddy was pretty creepy, but I was even more terrified of Jason from the Friday the 13th movies.
I can't watch that clip--Freddie freaks me out too much! I've never been good with scary movies, but he's the worst!
I've never seen it! I don't like horror movies. I won't even watch the previews of them on TV, LoL!
One of the best evil geniuses is Flagg from The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King. Creepy and calculating.
I saw the first Nightmare on Elm Street as a teen and didn't sleep a wink afterwards. I love the scene where the mc has fallen asleep in class and one of the other students is reciting Shakespeare (I think) in a slow, creepy voice--"were it not that I had bad dreams". Classic!
The original Nightmare on Elm Street was scary!
I've never watched The Nightmare on Elm Street--but Freddy Krueger sounds like a very creepy villain. I'm a little nervous just after watching that trailer. LOL.
Thanks for participating! :)
Freddie is the ultimate scary movie villain. He still... freaks me out. XD
hmmm...is it just evil, and a spirit of vengeance, ,or true genius?
Tale Spinning: The Grant of Malice
Yikes! Freddie is an evil character, indeed. I had nightmares about him.
Ooh freaky, I've never actually seen Freddie Crouger, probably because it is evil.
My sister was always obsessed with Nightmare on Elm Street because her dad lived on Elm Street. ;)
Love your analysis. Freddy creeped me out when I was a kid!
Great choice! Freddie was a creepy one for sure!
Oh my, good choice! I got the creeps just reading your post.
No, no, no. I don't do horror stuff. Seriously. Even though I'm all "grown up", that kinda thing still scares me! When I go to the movies and they happen to show a trailer for a horror movie (which they really should not do before a movie that ISN'T horror!) I close my eyes and stuff my fingers in my ears because I don't even want to HEAR it!
YES!! He is so creepy and yet, funny at times. I LOVED those movies -- still do ;o)
Now... time to sleep. LOL
I think I watched one Friday the Thirteenth movie and that was it for me...and from what I hear they were pretty much all the same, seen one, seen them all.
Thanks for stopping by, everyone. Yes, he is scary. Have a great week and I will stop by your blogs soon.
Freddy is the scariest one ever
one of the few scary movies i sat through!
definitely evil genius!
That's a great one to highlight! I never saw that movie because his face totally creeped me out!
Jen
I haven't ever watched one of those movies because he scares me! I once saw Robert Englund at a convention, was happy to keep my distance ;)
That was one scary movie. Evil genius for certain.
Eek! Great choice, Medeia!
