A ROW80 Update and a Giveaway

It's time for a ROW80 update. The current round of A Round of Words in 80 Days runs from January 2nd to March 22nd. My goal during this round of ROW80 is to a) edit WIP #1 and get it to beta readers and b) write at least half of the first draft for WIP #2 based on the outline I wrote during the previous round. I’m not one to write in detail about my WIPs online, so I’ll use abbreviations of the titles. WIP #1 is TWILAMPH and WIP #2 is EK.

TWILAMPH: Last week I ended at 13 chapters edited, and to date 18 out of 28 chapters have been edited. I wanted to be at 20 chapters, but fell short of my goal. By the end of this month I'd like the first round of edits to be done, so I have to get busy this weekend. February I want to do a second round and March I'd like to do the last round. I'm aiming for three rounds of edits to make my manuscript as polished as possible before I get it into the hands of beta readers.

EK: I wrote 2 more chapters, so now I'm at 3 chapters completed for this draft, when the outline calls for 24 chapters. As long as I write 1 or 2 chapters a week from now on, I'll be on task with this goal.

I hope all the other ROW80'ers are doing well with their writing goals.

Progress, even slow progress, is always awesome. And it doesn't look like you've been going that slow either. Awesome!

I won't enter the contest because I already own both those books, but I must say they're two of my all-time favorites - good luck to everyone who enters!

You're doing an awesome job with your goal, even if you didn't get as far as you had hoped.

Great to meet you - am popping over from Lynda R Young's Great Aussie BBQ:)

Great progress on your editing... I'm going a bit slow on my editing.. need to get myself into gear.

You're so productive! These goals are excellent, and you know something -- somehow it's even MORE helpful that you come very close to your goals but sometimes fall a little short. So it all sounds both doable and human. :)

Go, go! I wave my pompoms for you ;)

Any progress is good progress -- and as I keep reminding myself, I'm ahead of where I would have been if I let myself watch those TV shows that call to me with their siren songs!

Ooh, we're almost on the same page! I've got some scenes to add and more edits and... maybe beta reads in April?

Congrats on your progress!

And yay! Another great book giveaway! Both of these are on my wish list! No pressure, though. :) I plan to read them both regardless.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

*sigh* I wish I had either of those tools. Very cool. My travel work is a spiral bound notebook and pen. :)
