ROW80 and Music to Write to

It's time for a ROW80 update. The current round of A Round of Words in 80 Days runs from January 2nd to March 22nd. My goal during this round of ROW80 is to a) edit WIP #1 and get it to beta readers and b) write at least half of the first draft for WIP #2 based on the outline I wrote during the previous round. I’m not one to write in detail about my WIPs online, so I’ll use abbreviations of the titles. WIP #1 is TWILAMPH and WIP #2 is EK.

This round just began. Also, yesterday I returned to work after a nice two-weak winter break, so I was scrambling around doing last minute errands before getting back into the swing of things. I have nothing to report on the writing front, but next Wednesday I’ll post a true update. ROW80’ers post updates on Sundays and Wednesdays, but I’ve developed the habit of only posting for ROW80 on Wednesday, which works for me. So in a week I’ll share my progress. Good luck to my fellow ROW80’ers. We can do it.

In the meantime, here’s some music I listened to during my break. I did some light writing, nothing heavy, and these three songs were on constant replay. I love the thrill of finding music to write to, since it motivates me, and hopefully I won’t wear these songs out to the point that I’m sick of them. But that would be hard since they’re great tunes, in my opinion.

The only problem with abbreviations for titles is that they make me want to try to figure out what they stand for. :)

Always good to have new music to listen to, as well! Best of luck with this round, Medeia! I'm looking forward to hearing more about how things go next week once we're really into the swing of things.

Yay, I'm not the only one who didn't get much writing done over the holidays.

Good luck with getting back into it, Medeia. :D

I haven't gotten much of my writing done either. I did make some progress but the last few days have been hectic. I'm looking forward to tomorrow and Friday when I'll have more time to sit down and focus.

Don't worry about not getting much writing done. We've only had a couple of days. Good luck with your goals!

There is a Snow Patrol song I really like, 'The Finish Line,' so I clicked your link. I was starting to enjoy it and then I clicked to comment and lost it. :P

Will need to track back. Thanks for the linkage.

I'm not very good at writing to music with vocals. I end up typing the lyrics and singing along instead. Most of my writing playlist is movie scores. There's something for every mood!!

Good luck with the next round!

Welcome back, Medeia! Hope you had a nice break. I enjoyed a few weeks off myself - and I'm better for it.

Good luck with getting back into the swing of things this first week back. I'm still clearing out the 'fuzzies'. ha!

See you next Wednesday.

I love your music. Somehow, I end up writing to what my kids are listening to which currently is SchoolHouse Rocks. That Little 12-Toes song is messed up.

I don't think I could write a single word without music.

Have a great 2012.

I know so many who are doing ROW80. I feel like I'm missing out. :) I love discovering new music. I already listen to Snow Patrol, but I'll have to check out the other 2 videos.

Movie scores are fun to write to. A few of my current favorites are the A-Team, Prince of Persia, Sherlock Holmes, and Red Riding Hood. My wish list includes the scores for the Mummy movies, Transformer movies, and 10th Kingdom.

Great goals, Medeia. Like you, I don't like to talk about WIPs much. I love the contrast in your titles: the long and the short!

Good luck with your two WIPs this round! You can do it. :)

Medeia, you have set some sensible goals and interesting music choices. :)

What I love about ROW80 is you are in charge of your goals and how you want to rock the row -and it seems you have this pretty much to the tee. ;) I look forward to catching up with your progress as the ROW80 round continues.

Good luck!

It's your turn to introduce me to some new songs :-)

I couldn't decide if number one or number two was my favourite.

Oh, I love me some Snow Patrol! Thanks for the ROW80 link. I've always wondered about the specifics. I'm seriously considering jumping in on the next round.
